Every character you talk to on Velvet Chapters is an artificial intelligence. They are not real people, and no human is writing their messages to you.

What that means

Character messages are generated by AI models (provided by Anthropic) based on the story, the character and your chat.
Some story passages that react to your chats are also AI-generated. The rest of each book is written and edited by our team.
Characters may say things that are wrong, inconsistent or unexpected. Their messages are fiction, not advice or real feelings.
If you sincerely ask a character whether it is real, it will tell you it is an AI.
We remind you that characters are AI in the chat header, when you first open a chat, and periodically during long conversations.

Take care of yourself

These stories are for fun. If you notice they are getting in the way of your sleep, work or relationships, take a break. You can turn off character notifications at any time in Account.
